You’ll find De Flierefluiter in a unique location on the edge of the historic fortified village of Bad Nieuweschans, in Oldambt. Chalet De Flierefluiter is situated on a remnant of the old moat, known locally as De Kolk. This beautiful view under expansive skies is located in an area with many amenities, opportunities, and sights. Below, we’ve provided some valuable tips.

The village of Bad Nieuweschans
The chalet is situated on the edge of the village of Bad Nieuweschans. This former fortified town boasts a beautiful historic center with De Voorstraat, 1e and 2e Kannoniersstraat, and Achterstraat. Poiesz Supermarket is a great place for daily groceries. You can also enjoy delicious fresh fish at the on-site fish kiosk or, for those looking for a snack, at the adjacent Bastion Plaza.

You can enjoy delicious dining at various restaurants, such as Moeke Breughel (also nice bowling alley), Restaurant Norell (De Thermen), and De Poort van Groningen.

WINSCHOTEN, THE ROSE OF THE REGION
Located just 12 kilometers from De Flierefluiter, Winschoten is the second-largest shopping city in the province of Groningen, the vibrant heart of Oldambt. Its characteristic, charming town center offers ample opportunities for shopping, relaxing on a terrace, or enjoying a delicious meal. Shopping in Winschoten is a well-known phenomenon throughout the region, even extending beyond the German border.

Or… you can walk to the nearby Poort van Groningen for breakfast.
It consists of a ham and cheese roll, a roll, a fried egg, a croissant, and a cup of coffee or tea.

A city walk through the historic Altstadt (Old Town) of Leer (Germany).
Leer is a charming city with historic buildings and warehouses, located just 20 km from us, offering something for everyone. From shopping to a city walk or relaxing on a terrace by the harbor. Stroll through the Altstadt with its historic buildings and along the promenade, then settle in at a terrace for a drink. The beauty of a city walk in Leer is that you’re truly walking around the block. From the Uferpromenade (Ufer Promenade), you arrive at the old harbor of Leer, where many flat-bottomed boats are moored. Here you’ll also find several terraces where you can enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.

Adjacent is the Altstadt (Old Town) with its small shops and cafes. The facades of the historic buildings will remind you of the Netherlands. This is not surprising, as Dutch architecture in the 1700s and 1800s was influenced by the Dutch.
The Altstadt flows into Mühlenstraße and back to the Uferpromenade. Mühlenstraße is Leer’s pedestrian shopping street. Here you’ll find, among other things, well-known clothing stores. Definitely recommended for those who enjoy a day of shopping.

€115.00 per night, regardless of the number of people*.
Minimum stay: 2 nights.

Please note: a discounted price of €700 applies for 7 nights.

*Prices exclude tourist tax of €1.50 per person per night.

Breakfast:
1. You can bring your own breakfast supplies for your stay.
2. You can enjoy an excellent breakfast at De Poort van Groningen within walking distance (300 m).
3. You can order a breakfast basket from us for €10.00 per person for the first night.

The breakfast basket contains a standard breakfast: bread, rusk, butter, ham, cheese, jam, egg, and juice. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please indicate this when booking.

Arrival is possible from 2:00 PM, departure is before 12:00 PM.

Cancellation fees:
For cancellations within 48 hours of the agreed-upon stay, we will charge 50% of the accommodation costs.

Final cleaning:
Final cleaning is included in the rate; we expect our guests to do their own dishes before departure.

✓ A beautiful 36m² wooden chalet with a large waterfront terrace.
The chalet features an 18m² living room/kitchen, two 7m² bedrooms each, and a 4m² bathroom. Cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter. The easy-to-use air conditioning ensures that you stay cool.

The chalet also has free Wi-Fi!

✓ Bathroom
The bathroom features a double sink, a comfortable shower, and a toilet.
The bathroom mirror is equipped with a heated mirror, preventing fogging.
The bathroom also includes various bath and shower amenities, including a set of towels with a washcloth, shampoo and shower gel, conditioner, tissues, and a hairdryer with accessories.

✓ Living Room
The cozy living room with water views on all sides has a sitting area with two armchairs, side tables, and a double sofa bed.
The room is also equipped with a smart TV.

✓ Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a freestanding double induction cooktop, a mini-fridge, and a small grill/oven.
You’ll also find all the essentials for a pleasant stay, such as the L’Or Barista coffee machine. A milk frother, citrus juicer, kettle, toaster, immersion blender, and an egg boiler (suitable for three eggs) are also provided, as well as an electric BBQ for those who enjoy cooking.
The kitchen is also equipped with various pots, pans, and crockery.

✓ Bedrooms
Both bedrooms are furnished with two luxurious box-spring beds measuring 80×200 cm and can be converted into a double bed with a topper upon request. For those who are sensitive to the cold, each bed has its own electric blanket. Please request this when booking.
The thick wooden walls almost always ensure a comfortable temperature, but each bedroom has its own infrared heater for your comfort.

✓ The Terrace
The terrace consists of a beautiful wooden deck of over 20m² overlooking the water and nestled at the foot of a mighty willow and a beautiful old pear tree.
Here you can fully enjoy the peace and quiet and the healthy air. The willow provides ample shade, but on hot days, a parasol offers additional protection.
On the terrace, you’ll find a garden table with four chairs and four garden loungers.
Furthermore, there is a terrace on the back of the chalet with garden furniture.

✓ Free parking under the carport
The chalet has a garage with a carport. There is space under the carport for one car. Several cars can easily be parked in the (dead-end) street. In both cases, you can park your car almost directly in front of the door. And you’re just a few steps from the chalet.

✓ Bicycles
If you bring electric bicycles, they can easily be charged at the chalet.

Other information
Check-in is from 2:00 PM. If you are arriving very late, please let us know. We will then make sure the lights in the chalet are on for you, so you won’t arrive in the dark. Please check out before 12:00 PM.

Due to hygiene regulations, pets are unfortunately not allowed.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in the chalet. If you do wish to smoke, we ask that you do so outside with the windows and door closed to prevent the smell of smoke from entering the chalet. Please do not dispose of cigarette butts inside the chalet, but rather in the zinc outdoor trash bin provided.

Furthermore, parties and gatherings are not permitted in the chalet.

Mayor opens Logement De Flierefluiter in Bad Nieuweschans

Bad Nieuweschans – The festive opening of Logement De Flierefluiter will take place at Bunderpoort 7 in Bad Nieuweschans on Monday, June 5, at 3:30 PM. This beautiful wooden chalet is idyllically situated on one of the last remnants of Bad Nieuweschans’ moat, known locally as “De Kolk.”

The chalet features a living room with a sofa bed/kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a large wooden terrace overlooking the water. It can accommodate up to four people.

Opening
The opening ceremony will be performed by Mayor Cora Yfke Sikkema of the municipality of Oldambt.
The founders of Logement De Flierefluiter, Onne and Edith de Vries-Talma, announce that the construction of the chalet is in response to the positive developments in Bad Nieuweschans.

Bad Nieuweschans, with its rich history, is located in the beautiful Oldambt region, with all its hidden gems. More and more visitors are coming here for peace and quiet and to enjoy the panoramic views.
